Jessica's Table
Jesus said, "Invite the little children to come to me and do not hinder them,
for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:14
On December 30, 2008, Jessica Wright Pottinger passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ and now feasts at God's heavenly banquet table. Jessica loved Jesus and serving little children, and she lived her life with the openness and enthusiasm of a child even in life's darkest hours. Many of the world's children live continuously in the dark hour of hunger and hopelessness. Jessica's Table has been created in loving memory of Jessica to feed the world's children in the name of Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord, so that they might know God's abundance both now and in the life to come. As Jessica now sits with the saints at God's banquet table in heaven, we invite you to join in the spirit of her life by inviting the little children to come and eat the bread of life.
Jessica's Table, an initiative in Malis, Philippines supported by Together in Hope in partnership with Bethany United Methodist Church, feeds 150 children twice a week and conducts interactive Bible studies with the children. In the past year, the children's parents and other adult community members have expressed an interest in getting involved. As a result of feedback provided by the community, Together in Hope is planning to expand Jessica's Table to include job skills classes for the adults in the community. Together in Hope is planning on expanding Jessica's Table to other communities in the Philippines as well, as the model used in Malis continues to successfully meet the needs of the community.
