harold-recinosDr. Harold J. Recinos has worked with the Salvadoran refugee community and with marginal communities in both El Salvador and the United States for over 17 years. He is professor of Church and Society at the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

Dr. Recinos received his Masters in Divinity in 1982 from Union Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Ministry in parish ministry in 1986 from New York Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Philosophy with honors (Ph.D.) in cultural anthropology in 1993 from the American University in Washington, D.C. He is the author of numerous books, as well as articles in scholarly publications and journals. Harold Dr. Recinos is an ordained elder and member of the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.

 

edwin-pinedaEdwin Pineda is the onsite coordinator for Together in Hope’s community development work in El Salvador. Edwin received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University Central America Jose Simeon Canas.

Mr. Pineda is completing his Master’s degree in Community Development at his Alma Mater.  Pineda has worked for social justice with marginal communities in San Salvador, Morazán and Chalate, El Salvador providing exceptional leadership in matters of education and community development, especially with youth and young adults.

 

maria-recinosMaria José Recinos is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received a Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University, Dallas TX. In her practice, she has experience working with a wide range of clinical problems with a diverse client population.

Additionally, Maria José serves as a consultant to school districts, business organizations, and the Salvadoran Consulate, conducting programs and working with immigrants on matters of  crisis management; child rearing practices; post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD); disorder of extreme stress not otherwise specified (DESNOS);  substance abuse awareness, and domestic violence.
