Contribute towards the work in the Philippines
Together in Hope is working with Harris Memorial College - a Christian center in Rizal Province, Philippines offering effective Christian leadership training - to host the Church Ministry National Seminar, a conference for Christian educators, deaconesses, and other church leaders. The National Seminar will be held in Manila, Philippines in April 2011. The seminar will draw around 250 teachers and United Methodist Church (UMC) laity and clergy leaders from various regions in the Philippines, as well as representatives from 9 to 12 churches from the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
The conclusion of the conference will include visits to four different communities in the Philippines in order to launch community outreach and development programs in four new communities. We invite you to partner with Together in Hope to make the Church Ministry National Seminar accessible to more Filipino and American Christian workers and to launch four new projects in the Philippines in April 2011. A donation of $100 will allow a Filipino church worker to attend the Seminar by covering the registration cost for the conference. For $2,000, you can enable an American church representative to attend the conference by covering airfare, accommodations in the local community, and conference registration.
Together in Hope is aiming to raise $5,000 per community in order to launch projects in four new communities - for a total of $20,000. To help us realize this goal, we invite you to contribute any dollar amount as you are led - $5, $50, $500, or $5,000. Whatever the amount, your donation will make it possible for more people in the Philippines to have access to the Good News of Christ and to receive the vital services needed to enhance their physical and spiritual well being.
