Meet Our Board

There are 7 board members that serve on the advisory board of Together in Hope. Each board member contributes their time and valuable skills to Together in Hope. No board member receives any compensation for their services.

Diane McGehee

Founder and Executive Director

Diane is a licensed attorney and a United Methodist pastor. She currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Bering Memorial in Houston, TX. She graduated from the Harvard Law School in 1987 and has a Master of Divinity from the Perkins School of Theology at SMU. She has spent her professional careers as an advocate for justice and serving the underserved.

Jack McGehee

Co-Founder

Jack McGehee started Together in Hope in 2007. Jack is an attorney and Senior Partner of McGehee Chang Landgraf Feiler. He graduated from the West Point Military Academy in 1974 and St. Mary's Law School. Mr. McGehee brings his expertise in law and business management, as well as a lifetime of advocacy for justice and commitment to representing marginalized persons and families.

Dennis Beckman

Dennis retired from NASA after more than 30 years in the Astronaut Training Department.  Prior to his career at NASA, he served in the Peace Corps in Micronesia for two years teaching math and other subjects in elementary school.  He then taught college calculus while earning his master’s degree in Mathematics.  He continues to serve as a volunteer math tutor at all levels of education. Of Together in Hope, Dennis says,” “I believe in Together in Hope because we help enable the less fortunate to improve their lives - and their children’s future.”

Roberta Beckman

Roberta is retired from Procurement at NASA's Johnson Space Center with 30 years in business (contract negotiation and policy). Roberta’s formal education was in the arts (theatre, and painting and design). She studied sewing (home economics) and art in high school and university and did professional costuming prior to working at NASA. Roberta brings to Together in Hope her business skills and teaches basic sketching and watercolors, design and construction of marketable items like bags, as well as tailoring and  mending skills for the livelihood program.

Janet Deleon

Janet was born in a small village in El Salvador and arrived in Houston as a child.  Her mother migrated to the U.S.A. searching for a better future, due to poverty in the country. Janet is an award-winning communication and public affairs professional in Houston and is passionate about helping others and contributing to the empowerment of the community. Her background is in media relations and marketing. She works for the nonprofit organization AVANCE-Houston and brings her non-profit expertise to Together in Hope. Janet's nonprofit communications team has been recognized as #1 in Houston and she has been named among the city's best young PR professionals by the Public Relations Society of America. She is a member of the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals (HAHMP)

Nida Gonda

Nida is a graduate of Harris Memorial College with a degree in Kindergarten Education. She received a master’s degree in Christian Education from Scarritt College. Before coming to the U.S.A. in 1979 she served as Kinder Deaconess in Kamuning UMC and Naga City UMC. She recently retired after 25 years of non-profit work from Baker-Ripley and 10 years from Wesley Community Center. Nida has served as board member of Together in Hope since its founding in 2008. Nida brings her intimate knowledge of the Filipino people and their history, her non-profit experience, and her preschool expertise to the work of Together in Hope.

Wendy Snead

Wendy Snead currently works as the Controller for Creeris Ventures. Her experience in both accounting and nonprofit work make her uniquely qualified to serve as our Treasurer.
